Celebrating the pipe organ, the King of Instruments |
1800 Tannenberg organ in Old Salem Visitor’s Center
Come with us as we visit the 200 year old organ built by David Tannenberg. Originally constructed for the Home Moravian Church, it now can be heard in it’s own room at the Old Salem Visitor Center.
Recital soloist Peter Sykes and festival organist John Mitchener were recorded in the new Visitor’s Center Auditorium in Old Salem during a Tannenberg Rededication Symposium and Festival, March 19-21, 2004. After nearly a century of silence, this most significant early-American-built pipe organ makes music once again. A compact disc of selections from the rededication concert is available from Raven Records on Raven OAR-700
