Celebrating the pipe organ, the King of Instruments |
European music of the past is recreated in the United States on three instruments built by the profoundly influential American organ designer, the late Charles Brenton Fisk.
All performances recorded for this broadcast feature Edward Pepe and Lynn Edwards, who play on the Fisk mean-tone organ at Wellesley College’s Houghton Chapel, on an instrument by Fisk in the manner of Gottfried Silbermann at First Congregational Church, Westfield, MA, and on an Italian-style Fisk organ in the chapel of Mount Holyoke College.
