This past winter (February 13-14-15), the Eastman-Rochester Organ Initiative (EROI), the Rochester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the Rochester Theatre Organ Society and public radio station WXXI-91.5FM collaborated in a three-day organ orgy with Pipedreams host Michael Barone. Capacity audiences attended events featuring two new instruments, the 2008 Fritts organ at Sacred Heart Cathedral and the 2008 GoART Casparini Project organ at Christ Church Episcopal, along with a well-attended afternoon extravaganza at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre. This is the first of two programs derived from those weekend events. Mr. Ortloff’s performances are available on CD from his website.
